Regarding the Scriptures
We trust and uphold the authority of the five books of Moses: Torah, as the instruction for goodness, for life and for peace as given by the hand of Moses from the mouth of God. We accept as Holy, inspired Scripture the remaining books of the Old Testament, or TaNaKh, as historical, spiritual, and prophetic writings concerning the past, present, and future of God’s creation. We accept and uphold the 27-Book New Testament, or B’rit Chadashah, canonized by the Council of Hippo, as historical, spiritual, and prophetic writings concerning the past, present, and future of God’s creation. Regarding apocryphal texts and oral histories, we acknowledge and respect their contribution to culture and tradition. Questions have arisen concerning inclusion or exclusion of such writings and records in the category of holy, inspired Scripture, profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness. We defer to the power and conviction of the Holy Spirit to grant discernment and revelation upon the one who reads and studies, with or without sufficient evidence for inspiration on the part of a document’s author. Regarding the Father
We believe in one God and Father of all who is above all and through all and in all. That Abraham, by faith, called upon the Name of the LORD. We believe in the God of Abraham, as Creator and sovereign King of all, without beginning and without end. We believe that through miraculous and divine intervention, God Himself has chosen to encounter humankind through physical and spiritual manifestation. Back to Top
Regarding the Son
We believe in the unique incarnation of the Divine, born of the line of David by virgin birth, the anointed Son of God, Yeshua who is Jesus of Nazareth. We believe in Yeshua’s life and ministry as the prophesied Redeemer and Savior of Israel. That His blameless and perfect life, offered in sacrifice by death on a cross, and resurrection on the third day provides blood atonement and power over death. This gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the nations. He is the child born, the Son given to us, born of a virgin to Whom is given the titles of Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. He is the only begotten Son of the Father. And no one comes to the Father except through Him. Yeshua is the One through Whom the world was created. After giving Himself for the cleansing of our sins, He ascended to sit at the right hand of the Majesty on high, in the Seat of Judgment, and that all must appear before the judgment seat of Christ. Yeshua and the Father are one. Back to Top
Regarding the Spirit
We believe that the work of the Spirit was present in the creation of the world, moving upon the face of the waters; present in the creation of the Tabernacle, filling Bezaleel with wisdom, understanding, and knowledge; active in the appointment of Joshua as an appointed shepherd over Israel; and paramount in filling Gideon, Saul, Samson, and others with the power to fulfill the LORD’s direct will. We believe that the Holy Spirit came upon the virgin Mary that she might conceive and bring forth a Son who is to be called the Son of God, Jesus (Yeshua). At His immersion, the heavens opened and the Spirit of God descended upon Him and rested. It is Yeshua of whom the prophet spoke, “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.” We believe in the manifestation of the Holy Spirit to incite dreams and visions, to give wisdom, knowledge, faith, healings, miracles, prophecy, spiritual discernment, tongues, and interpretations. There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. We believe that the Spirit bears witness to the LORD’s covenant promises, that we are His children who were elected for salvation according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification by the Spirit, for obedience, and the sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ to obtain glory with Him. Regarding Salvation
We believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach, and the Good News of the Kingdom that were preached beforehand to Abraham, that in Him all the Nations of the Earth might be blessed. That believing in the death and resurrection of our LORD, Jesus Christ, by faith, we are called to baptize in His Name, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by His grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. For by grace we are saved through faith, not of ourselves; it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any should boast. As the LORD has said among the remnant whom the LORD calls, in Jerusalem, there shall be deliverance, and whoever calls on the Name of the LORD shall be saved. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. For He is a Father to Israel, it shall be declared far off among the Nations that ‘He who scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him as a shepherd does his flock,’ and He will bring them back to their folds and they shall be fruitful and increase. For He has placed salvation in Zion, for Israel His glory. There is no God like Him, who pardons iniquity and delights in mercy, passing over His remnant’s transgressions. For blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Just as Abram, in uncircumcision, believed and it was counted to him as righteousness apart from works, so too is he the father of all who believe. This is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Nations. The Lord will raise up the Tabernacle of David and the Nations who are called by His Name, shall be fellow heirs to the promise of eternal life. Back to Top
Regarding Immersion
We believe in the baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins, that by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, we might be made presentable, holy and without blemish as the Church before Christ. Having been buried into death with Christ and raised with Him in glory, we have died to our sinful nature and have been raised in the newness of life. We believe in the regular, ritual washings as a reminder of the Greater Mikvah. As we wash (rachatz) in times of ritual impurity, and immerse (tevilah/baptizo) in conjunction with spiritual cleansing, we acknowledge each as a shadow of the greater cleansing by the blood of Christ: the Hope (mikveh) of Israel, and the baptism of all through the Holy Spirit and fire. That following Yeshua’s death and resurrection on the third day, the call to discipleship went out from Jerusalem, among all the nations to preach repentance and the remission of sins. We believe that if one is to be baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, to observe the commands as a new creation in Christ, that this must be done willingly by an immersion of repentance, because the sacrifices of God are a broken spirit and a contrite heart. To these things the Holy Spirit remains a witness to the fruit of repentance. And it is to this same Holy Spirit we attribute the witness of Yeshua at whose immersion, in accordance with the prophet Isaiah, on Him the Spirit of God descended and remained. Back to Top
Regarding the Law
We believe that the Word of the LORD was there in the beginning, that the testimony of the LORD is established forever and that this is the Word by which the gospel is preached. We believe that, while heaven and earth may pass away, His Word shall not pass away; the grass may wither and the flower fades, but the Word of our God shall stand forever. We believe that the law exists for our sanctification, to establish us as a people holy to the LORD, His own possession who are zealous for good works. Yeshua gave Himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness. We believe that the whole of Scripture, beginning at Moses and all the Prophets speak of Messiah Yeshua. From the serpent that Moses lifted up in the wilderness to Christ as the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world, Christ has come to fulfill the Law and the Prophets. The LORD was pleased for His righteousness’ sake to magnify His Law and make it glorious. And since there is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus, we are set free to accomplish through the Spirit the righteous requirement of the Law that might be fulfilled in us. We believe it shall come to pass that many people and strong nations will seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem to pray and to keep the sabbaths and Feasts. Those who are gathered in the land will be given new hearts of flesh and a new spirit that will cause them to walk in His statutes and to keep His judgments. His law will be within them and all will know Him from the least to the greatest. We believe that His commandment is not too hard for us, nor far off. For His yoke is easy, and His burden is light. A young man may keep his way pure by guarding it according to the Word of the LORD. Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, who meditates on His law day and night. Great peace have those who love His law; nothing can make them stumble. It is Christ who says, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” Back to Top
Regarding Lineage
We believe the LORD called Abram with a promise to multiply his offspring and to give them a land. Abram believed and it was counted to him for righteousness. The LORD changed his name to Abraham, that he would be “Father to Many Nations”. By the miraculous gift of God, Abraham and Sarah, gave birth to Isaac, the promised son. Blessings over the sons of Abraham produced a nation to whom were entrusted the oracles of God. This testimony was established in Jacob, an appointed law in Israel that each generation would know and set their hope in God. From the line of Judah came a root of Jesse to bear fruit. Like a shepherd, He will regather his people, raising a sign for the nations. He is God of the whole earth and many peoples and strong nations will seek Him in Jerusalem. There will be for them a highway, like the day Israel came up out of Egypt. The Holy City will be inhabited by those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. For a Jew is one who is one inwardly. The circumcision of the flesh is a marker of God’s covenant with Abraham and his descendants. The Spirit will circumcise the heart that we might love Him with all our hearts and souls, and that we may live. For this is His covenant: that He shall take away our sins. His Law will be upon our hearts; we shall be His people and He, our God. The gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable, for God is merciful and will not be angry forever. When the fullness of the Gentiles has come in, all Israel will be saved. The blessing of Abraham came to the Gentiles, having received the promised Spirit through faith. It is by this grace that God has preserved a remnant in Israel and in Jacob that will return from where they were dispersed. Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel according to the gift of grace. God has committed all to disobedience that He may have mercy on all. Back to Top
